Volunteer Opportunities
Members of the Friends of the Chanhassen Library (FOCL) who would like to become actively involved with the organization can join any of the committees listed below. Current members are all volunteers who are passionate about our Library and the benefits it brings to Chanhassen. Joining the Friends is a great opportunity to meet new people and put your talents to work in the community.
We are always excited to welcome new members and volunteers to participate in a variety of ways. You could serve on a committee, volunteer at an event, or provide other services or resources for the group. We are looking for volunteers with a wide variety of talents and strengths who share our passion for our community and the Chanhassen Library. If you'd like to volunteer, please email us below!

Opportunities to Serve
Leadership:
Volunteers are needed to serve on the board of directors to provide leadership and financial oversight of the group.
The current Board of Directors are:
President - Gwen Kuhrt (term expires 1/2027)
Vice President - Jane Brown (term expires 1/2027)
Secretary - Nadia Janson (term expires 1/2027)
Treasurer - Molly Slominski (term expires 1/2026)
Finance Director - Cindy Hromatka (term expires 1/2027)
Special Fund-Raising:
Activities in this area may include developing and helping with the holiday appeal letter, grant writing and planning special events.
Programs, Projects & Services
Activities in this area may include supporting library staff in hosting programs & author events.
Membership
Activities in this area may include managing membership rosters, and communications with members.
Communications
Activities here include managing the website, developing publicity opportunities for Friends and establishing other communication options.
Book Sales
Volunteers are always needed to help set up the book sales (Sun - Wed), to work during the sale (Thurs - Sun) and to help take down the sale (Mon/Tues.) Come try it out - it's fun! Even an hour or two of volunteer help makes a huge difference!
